The APPS:
Okay, to answer some questions you all are having about the movies we make in class, I have a few solutions. **note: if you have a method that has been successful, keep using it... (some of these also help in filming and editing phases)
link to website that reviews some (like 3-5) free apps: (and they are "ok"

This is another method if you want some "animations". It is a bit rough, but might be a good starting point for some of you: http://www.dvolver.com/moviemaker/make.html

The StoryBoard: (script)
To be sure you have included everything you will need for "shooting your film", you will need to create a storyboard. This is basically a script of everything that will occur in your film (including background and other cool effects). This will be especially important in your ANTI-DRUG PSA.
Below, you will find a file that will help you in your pursuits. Please remember that it has a template for just one scene and to complete a five minute video... you might need multiple scenes.

If you feel you need a more intense way of setting up a better storyboard, check out the document I snagged from a college's workshop:

Be sure that when you plan things, you are not planning random acts of goofiness or silliness... while you may think it is entertaining now, you are not really adding anything beneficial to your project and your subsequent grade. Don't make me fail you because you felt the need to be the class clown.
"Shooting your film"
After watching some of your solubility videos, I realized that some of you actually need a lot of work on your film-making. I thought these things were common sense (but alas, you all have proven me wrong)....
Seriously, Go to the link and READ THIS: http://blogs.cisco.com/channels/five_tips_for_filming_your_next_or_first_video/
Now that you read these things, there are some more tips:
1.) Make sure you are not outside in the wind, or we cannot hear it.
2.) DO NOT FILM in a classroom at lunch.... it will never be quiet enough...
3.) DO NOT FILM in a classroom. period. It shows that you haven't really tried and are slapping together something for the sake of passing.
4.) if you decide to use background music, it SHOULD NOT be LOUDER than the speaking parts.
5.) STOP SHAKING the camera.
6.) MAKE SURE YOU EDIT. To many of you have a fit of giggles or mess up repeatedly or need encouragement from your group to be louder. That is why I put links to editing software above, so that mistakes can be removed.
7.) Make sure your credits include your class period, the date and all group members and any cameos in film (and NO it is NOT cute to add random cameos of your teachers in an ANTI drug PSA....)
